Mr Dylan Jones trained at the Middlesex Hospital in London before specialising in Eye surgery at the Bristol Eye Hospital. He became an NHS consultant in 1986 working in West Wales for Hywel Dda Health Board as a general ophthalmologist with an interest in anterior segment surgery. He retired from the NHS in 2015 and continues in private practice at the BMI Werndale hospital. Over a 28 year consultant career, Mr Jones has obtained extensive experience in all aspects of eye surgery, including corneal grafting, glaucoma, eyelid surgery and of course, cataract surgery. At the last count, he estimates having carried out in the region of 15000 cataract procedures.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and The Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He also holds membership of the United Kingdom and Ireland Society of cataract and refractive surgeons as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Appointments with Mr Jones should be made through the Werndale.
